Emma began her multifaceted career as a photographer before founding And North in 2014, a renowned curated guide to upstate New York. Through And North, she has worn many hats which include art direction, content creation, event production, brand partnerships, social media, influencer marketing, and more. As a leading voice on upstate NY culture, Emma has served on a panel at The 92nd Street Y on the Lure of the Catskills and wrote the introduction to Living Upriver, a Rizzoli book by Barbara De Vries on creative upstate communities. Her nine years of experience at And North has led her to offer services and consultation to other brands including Parachute Home, West Elm, Eleven Six, The Botanist Gin, Rejuvenation, Farrow & Ball, Clove & Creek, and others. 

Emma has been featured in various publications including Hudson Valley Magazine, West Elm, The Glossary, Hunker Home, Design Sponge, Eye Swoon, and Lohud. Her photography has been featured in The New York Times, Remodelista, Conde Nast Traveler, Food 52, Huffington Post, Bon Appetit, Forbes, Jetsetter, Surface Magazine, Westchester Magazine, Country Living Magazine, and others.

In 2023, she started Austen Boland with her partner Andrew Patterson, an interior design studio which offers timeless design for the sustainable home.
